Skillquest’s online video course teaches you everything you need to know to build a competitive Rocket League bot. You also get access to the Discord community to ask questions and meet other bot builders.
Build
Make improvements to your bot’s strategy and mechanics by testing it against your peers’ in weekly scrims, or by downloading testing yourself against some of the world’s most famous bots.
Compete
The final tournament is a combination of judging and a single elimination, streamed bracket. The top bot builders will split the prize pool of $2000.
The Course
The bot-building course is an on-demand video course proven to teach you Python from the ground up. No prior experience necessary. Throughout the course, you will use what you are learning about Python in order to make new improvements to your Rocket League bot.
Over 50 video lessons will teach you everything about Python and Rocket League bots, from simply driving forward to choosing which boost your car acquires to picking how it should approach and hit the ball.

What is a Rocket League bot?
Building a Rocket League bot means writing a program to play the game. Instead of a human using a controller, your program will “use a controller” to tell the car to move forward, backward, get boost, shoot the ball, etc… Rocket League is a complex game, so programming a bot starts simple, but gets complex quickly.
Are bots allowed in Rocket League?
Yes! Psyonix (the game’s developer) built a specific way to allow the programming of bots, but it only works in an offline mode. Bots are not allowed to play online Rocket League games, and this competition has nothing to do with programming bots to play in online matches.
What programming experience do I need?
We teach you everything you need to know about programming, so there is no experience necessary! It is helpful to understand the game of Rocket League at a basic level, but that can also be learned along the way.
What is required for signups?
As this is the first competitive bot design event that we are hosting, you do not need any qualifications outside of the course purchase in order to compete.
